Façade Restoration 439 Wood St., Downtown Pittsburgh, PA

When a piece of the façade fell from this four-story downtown building, we helped get pedestrian protection erected, and then performed a detailed façade inspection.  Roofing and masonry failures had caused damage to the terra cotta façade, and additional pieces at the fourth floor were in danger of failure. We specified a comprehensive repair, including the fabrication of matching pieces to replace those too damaged to remain.

In this case, the significant damage required emergency work. However, we also inspect façades in various conditions and assist building owners in long term planning so façade improvements can be completed before the public is in danger.
