In a historic main street district, the County had acquired six historical commercial buildings, all vacant and in poor repair. This two phase project began with an assessment of all properties, reviewing the possibility and costs of repair and reuse against the cost of demolition. Three properties were selected for demolition and three for restoration. The restored properties were repaired to structurally sound shell condition with asbestos abated and put out for public Request for Proposals (RFP). With new tenants, we expect these properties will bring new life to a beautiful but neglected main street district.
