Oil City Design Guide Oil City, PA

The City of Oil City has three historic districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places including a downtown commercial district and two residential districts. Formerly the home of Quaker State, Pennzoil and Wolf’s Head, Oil City, today, looks very different from the oil boom days when it was built. The Design Guide aims to give property owners and stakeholders the tools to maintain and restore their buildings, attract historical related tourism and entrepreneurial development, and spur investment in properties, including blighted properties.

The Design Guide is divided into eleven sections based on the pertinent stakeholders: private property owners or public entities. The Design Guide addresses descriptions of Oil City’s architectural styles, existing buildings, commercial building, demolition, new construction and additions, landscaping, and public recreational amenities.
